Roaches International develop the new and improved Pyrotec³ to replace the Pyrotec 2000 series of infrared dyeing machines. The new models will be easier to maintain, more efficient and lower-cost.

ADS reached a milestone when it moved from the collection of separate, small industrial units into which it had expanded over the years and brought its factory, stores and administration together into a single, larger and more efficient unit at Birstall, just south of Leeds.

ADS is moving into new technological areas. Its latest innovation is a 2.5m autoclave for the heat- and pressure-setting of the resins in carbon-fibre composites. Entering operation in November 2012, it was built to the specifications of Crosby Composites, which specialises in making components for F1 racing cars and high-end sports cars.

In April 2012, ADS handled the major Thies yarn-dyeing installation at Park Valley Dyers – the UK’s first new dyehouse in 20 years. The astonishing success of this enterprise, a joint venture between Holmfirth Dyers and the automotive-textile producer Camira Fabrics, has helped to change the atmosphere in the UK dyeing-and-finishing industry, where there is an apparent new willingness to invest.
